All In Fun
Hey y’all, I’m here to talk about my newest release, Dean’s List, an EC for Men Quickie.
I have to tack that last bit on when I’m talking about it because it’s something new for me. Writing a book strictly about sexual fantasies. We all have them, men, women, young, old, naughty and not-so-naughty. Something as simple as a kiss or as complicated as a full-fledged orgy with you as the star. Fantasies are what we indulge in, but don’t always fulfill.
It starts off innocently enough. I used to daydream about being a superhero, a secret superhero of course. There was something special about me that would show the world how wonderful I was and John Taylor of Duran Duran would fall madly in love with me and I’d rescue my entire school from some unidentifiable threat and John Taylor would fall in love with me. I had a huge crush on him as a third grader. At that time though, I was more concerned with being a heroine and having the cute bassist from my favorite band like me and want to share my milk at lunch.
The older I got though, those fantasies changed. One of my favorites was that I’d become super-sexy (superheroish yet again), rolling into town on my Ducati  or my Harley (forgetting the fact that I’m a disaster on a bicycle) and making my ex-boyfriend regret breaking things off with me. Then I’d indulge in some revenge sex and ride off into the sunset…without falling off the bike and leave him sobbing. SOBBING.
But that was before I became a writer. I didn’t consciously start out writing naughty stories. I honestly just wanted to write a story where love conquers all, the misfit heroine wins the biggest, most popular (or the most dangerous) guy and they live happily ever after. Then I realized that heroine had to have a fantasy. The hero too. Thus was born the sex scene. For me at least.
Oh how I blushed those first days of writing romance. I was so young and innocent! Then I started hanging out with other writers and my work became a little hotter the more I realized there was nothing wrong with sex or fantasy. Then I wrote even hotter stuff and then hotter still. My work evolved, becoming a balance between the sex and the emotions my characters felt. Spanking, a little light bondage and finally exhibitionism, a little fun that wasn’t completely vanilla. Until finally, I thought “I need to just write a book about sex.”
No messy emotions, no black moments, no “is this wrong” guilty feelings. Just sex. Fulfilling the fantasies that cloud a person’s mind. The ones we don’t really want to admit to anyone because they’re taboo, or they’ll cause jealousy, those kinds of fantasies were the basis for Dean’s List. What do you do if your husband wants a different kind of woman? What if his fantasies revolve around a woman completely unlike you? What do you do?
I won’t answer that, but needless to say I think Dean’s List will prove to be more than just for men. I think it’ll be the kind of book couples can read together to spice up their sex lives. Because fantasy is just that. Fantasy. Unless you’re lucky enough to find the right person who can help you fulfill it without anyone getting hurt the way the hero of Dean’s List does.
After all, it’s all in good fun.
I’m not going to ask you what your favorite fantasy was unless you’re willing to share, but who was your childhood crush?

Bio:
Danica Avet was born and raised in the wilds of South Louisiana (that would be somewhere around Houma) where mosquitoes are big enough to carry off small children and there are only two seasons: hot and hotter. With a BA in History, she figured there were enough fry cooks in the world and decided to try her hand at writing.

Danica is the lucky pet of a compulsively needy dog and two cats. The pitter-patter of little feet has been known to make her break out into a cold sweat.

Writing is how she gives the voices in her head a way out. When she isn’t writing, working or contemplating the complexities of the universe, she spends time gathering inspiration from her insane family, reads far more than any sane person would want to, and watches hot burly men chase an oblong ball all over a field.
